Project Yachay

Project Yachay

Education and Health

Yachay is a Quechua word meaning not just knowledge or wisdom, but using the knowledge and wisdom wisely, gained from one’s personal experience.

Currently there are numerous schools throughout the villages of the Q’eros Nation. There are a variety of schools in various states of disrepair and sustainability.

IQF visit 2012

Under the direction, request and guidance of village elders and the President, the IQF is developing a project that benefits the most children and access to education. This project can take numerous forms; such as the procuring of desks, reconstruction or new construction, coupled with the academic supplies and first aid requested, in order to function as a school.

IQF has conducted an assessment in three different communities  within the Q’ero region. In meeting with and consultation with the various Presidents of the communities, Councils/Assemblies, and Directors of the schools….we have seeded this project, which is co-creative and benefits the most children.
